Where is my data stored?
On your iPhone and in your personal iCloud (CloudKit private database). Gilt has no servers — there is literally nothing on our side that could see your data. No analytics, no tracking, no ads.
Do I need to create an account?
No. Gilt uses the iCloud account already on your iPhone. Nothing to sign up for, no password to remember.
How does the free trial work?
Every subscription starts with 14 days free — the full app, no limits. You'll get a reminder two days before it ends. If you don't continue, the app becomes read-only, but your data stays browsable and exportable to CSV forever. Your data is never held hostage.
What happens if I stop subscribing?
You keep access to everything you've entered: browsing, search, reports and CSV export keep working. You just can't add new records until you subscribe again.
How does the Family plan work?
The buyer's subscription extends to up to five members of their Apple Family Sharing group automatically. The shared household ledger syncs through your own iCloud accounts — no server in the middle.
How does AI import work? Is it private?
Gilt gives you a prepared prompt; you hand it to the AI you already use (Claude, ChatGPT, any other) together with your bank statement. The AI produces a file that Gilt verifies and imports. The app itself makes no network calls to any AI service, and you review every transaction before it's saved.
How do I cancel or get a refund?
Subscriptions are managed by Apple: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Gilt → Cancel. Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
